Greeting the New Year, people organize a festival of "Sasang Traditional Daljipnori" to pray for everyone's fortune and safety. Daljipnori (burning daljip, bundle of twigs that is burned to bring good luck) is an event that is held on Jeongwol Daeboreum (the day of the first full moon of the lunar year). It is very popular and common occasion in farming areas, and Sasang is no exception.
With the beginning of gilnori (opening ceremony) along with a grand parade, participants make a 20 meter-high daljip for the prayer of the new lunar terms. As soon as the moon rises, people burn the daljip. It is the biggest event in Yeongnam region. Many folk plays are happening together.
